I am the mother of 3 lovely children, born in 1992, 2002, and 2005. I had three very different birth experiences and have learned alot from each one. My first birth left me passionate about taking control of my choices during labour and birth, and I spent the next 10 years reading everything I could find about pregnancy and childbirth. For my most recent birth in 2005, I enjoyed a completely natural homebirth. I recently discovered the path I could take to become a doula, and am looking forward to many years of supporting women in this role. I attended a DoulaUK approved training course with Nurturing Birth in November 2007, and received my completion certificate in February 2008. I am also a member of DoulaUK, and work according to the philosophy and code of practice of the group. For more information on Nurturing Birth or to read more about DoulaUK, see my links section. One of the things I love most about being a doula is the fact that I am always learning. I continue to attend courses and workshops that are relevant to the field at every opportunity, and I am currently studying for diplomas in reflexology and aromatherapy.
